FEATURES: We furnished the house island style. Vintage fabrics, lots of color and an emphasis on comfort create a romantic retreat. You’ll fall asleep to the sound of the surf and wake for a dawn beach walk. The house sits high up on poles and is approximately 20 yards back from the beach, behind a vacant oceanfront lot. The 1000 sq. ft. interior has two bedrooms, two baths and laundry room. The living/dining room faces the ocean and is fronted by a large seaside porch that grazes the tops of the palms. Moloaa Bay is at the northern edge of Kauai's East Shore. Our cottage is located at the end of a country road that looks like Hawaiian roads should look … windy and lush with hardly any homes. The road ends at a locked gate. No cars or pedestrians can pass through, leaving the entire right side of the bay easily accessible only to the four homes past the gate. We are one of those four homes. A ten minute drive north brings you to the quaint town of Hanalei, made famous by Puff the Magic Dragon. Another ten minutes and you’re at the end of the road and the beginning of the NaPali coastline, with its stupendous views and hiking. Or drive east from the house and enjoy the town of Kapaa, ten minutes in the opposite direction. |
